Rabbi Ben Zeidman grew up in Columbus, Ohio before earning a B.A. in International Relations from James Madison College at Michigan State University, and a specialization in Jewish Studies. He was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in 2010, and then served as assistant and associate rabbi at Temple Emanu-El in New York City until 2015.

He is also a 2014-2015 Brickner Fellow, a program for rabbis focused on Social Justice work led in collaboration with the Religious Action Center (RAC) and the National Jewish Center for Leadership and Learning (CLAL).

While at HUC-JIR he served student pulpits in Illinois, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, and also worked as a rabbinic intern at historic Wise Temple in Cincinnati. As an HUC-JIR Youth Programs’ department intern he coordinated educational and recruitment weekends for high school and college students from all over the country. In June 2009 he received HUC-JIR’s Fourth Year Sermon Award for Outstanding Sermon.

He was the Developmental Editor of the The New Union Haggadah, Revised Edition (2014), and a contributing author for Lights in the Forest: Rabbis Respond to Twelve Essential Jewish Questions (2014).

Rabbi Zeidman, his wife Katie, and his children, Oliver and Isabel, are so thrilled to be a part of the Temple Mount Sinai community.
